In testing the 2013 Honda Fit EV, Autoblog found that its most negative aspect isn't a feature or a defect, but rather, the fact that it's going to be available in such limited quantities upon its release. In fact, that's literally the only criticism that the online publication had for the forthcoming electric vehicle from the Big H. They found everything else to be superb.

So what did they like best? By far, that would be its dynamic range of driving modes. The 2013 Honda Fit EV is equipped with a dial that allows for it to switch between three output preset: Normal, Econ, and Sport. Each one is fairly self explanatory, providing the driver with an experience that fall on the efficiency/performance spectrum accordingly. This is matched with two braking modes on the vehicle's transmission. Drivers can select either Drive or Brake, and match either of those with any of the three output settings for a total of six different driving modes.

Brake mode applies the brakes automatically as you let you foot off of the gas pedal to increase the rate of regenerative braking. It also provides a unique one-pedal driving experience that the editors at Autoblog found to be quite interesting.

Overall, the editors at Autoblog were won over with one seat behind the wheel of the 2013 Honda Fit EV. And that's great news for the possibility of a wider release in the near future. For now, Honda is limiting the availability of the Fit EV to test the public's interest.
