The Honda Accord has been in production for over 30 years and each year it continues to impress. In 2011 Honda hopes to continue a tradition making the Accord a family favorite vehicle. Consumer Reports continually give the sedan A+ marks for comfort and reliability. The 2011 Accord also receives better gas mileage than previous models - 23 miles per gallon city, and 34 mpg on the highway. That's with its 4 cylinder, 177-horsepower engine.
Another Honda model, the Camry, has battled Accord for top sales over the years. In 2010, the Camry beat out Accord to claim the top-selling-car spot, but Camry sales declined last year, while Accord increased by 282,530. Other trim levels like Accord Crosstour (a taller, five-door wagon in the style of a crossover) added another 28,000 in sales for 2010.
Accord also offers a Special Edition for 2011, including luxury options like leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, driver's seat two-way power lumbar and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The vehicle also adds suspension upgrades, making the vehicle handle more smoothly.
Accord has a higher starting retail price this year than some other Honda models, but you get what you pay for. Manufacturer's suggested retail price, including destination charge, is $21,930 for a base, The lowest-priced Accord sedan with automatic has a starting MSRP, including destination charge, of $22,730.
Don't forget to check out the sporty Accord coupe, with a starting retail price of $23,530 and 190-horses matted to a four cylinder. The higher-powered, 190-horsepower four cylinder is offered in the sedan, as well, and a 271-horsepower V6 is optional in both the Accord sedan and coupe.
