Honda is an automaker that takes a lot of pride in including high levels of efficiency in their Honda new model lineup, and we here at Brandfon Honda in Branford, CT really respect that. So when we heard that a new Honda Fit Hybrid took home the 2013 award for 'Japan Car of the Year', we were incredibly excited for our manufacturer, despite the fact that this fun, sporty, and efficient model is not as of this writing, available within the United States.

Yes indeed, automotive journalists from Honda's home country of Japan recently named the new hybrid model, which was released first in Japan, as their car of the year, despite some very heavy domestic competition. So what exactly was so impressive about the model?

The journalists first and foremost noted the model's high levels of efficiency as a very desirable attribute. The Fit Hybrid uses a very eco-friendly 1.5-liter traditional gasoline engine, paired with a lithium ion battery for the utmost in hybrid fuel efficiency. So efficient in fact, that it was the highest rated vehicle for fuel economy in all of Japan this year.

Also helping the model's case for Japan Car of the Year' was its modern and sleek exterior styling. With bold design lines and language leading back from the front taillights to the sculpted and powerful back end, this model is truly one hybrid that looks ready to go.
