If you're looking for a versatile, efficient new Honda here in Branford, CT, chances are the Honda Fit is already on your radar.

Available in a fuel-sipping gas edition or as an all-electric hatchback, the sporty model aims to please drivers who have placed fuel-economy at the top of their list of priorities. Now, it looks like the model is slated to get even more flexible with the introduction of the Fit Hybrid.

It's certainly big news in the Honda world, but we do have to forewarn you that it doesn't exactly look like the new hybrid will make its way to the US. If you're scratching your heading wondering, what we mean by "exactly" we assure you that we're not being purposely obtuse.

Here's the deal:

The Honda Fit Hybrid will debut in Japan this September. And while the model may be released in other countries around the world, it's unlikely that the US will be one of them. But there is a green-tinted light at the end of this tunnel. While the Fit Hybrid won't come to America, the ecofriendly technology that it sports under the hood will, in an all-new model.

There's more good news, too. We could see this new mystery-model as early as next year. So we will have to make it through twelve months or so knowing that Japanese drivers are having all-kinds of fuel-efficient fun, but at least there's some consolation in the fact that we'll get to join in next year. Plus, we've got the award-winning Fit to tide us over while we wait.

To get a feel for the current Fit we invite you to visit with our Brandfon Honda sales staff. They can go over all of the fun features of this great hatchback and they can even fill you in on what to expect out of the 2014 Fit.
