In the weeks leading up to the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Honda teased a redesigned version of its popular CR-Z sports hybrid coupe online with some close-up shots and the date 9/27. Because it was so clear that was the date when Honda planned to show off the all-new CR-Z, it baffled many that Honda opted instead to show it off a week earlier at the Indonesia International Motor Show. And while we here at Brandfon Honda were certainly confused by the move, we were far from upset by it.

After all, we got to feast our eyes on the redesigned Honda CR-Z a week early. What's more, we get to share the juicy details with you on our blog sooner as well.

So what is there to know concerning the refreshed Honda CR-Z? Here's a quick rundown:

  • The CR-Z was shown off in a new exterior color: Premium Energetic Yellow Pearl.
  • The front end has been redesigned to feature a more pronounced lower front lip.
  • The redesigned headlamps feature LED running lights tucked underneath them.
  • In the back, the new CR-Z features a redesigned diffuser.

Honda has not released official performance ratings for the redesigned CR-Z just yet, but they are saying we can expect to see at least 20 more horsepower under the hood from the electric motor. The Big H has also confirmed that the next CR-Z will feature either a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or six-speed manual.

Of course, the biggest question on everyone's mind right now is when we'll see the new CR-Z arrive at Brandfon Honda. At this point in its development, Honda has not divulged such details. If you're interested in a fun-to-drive hybrid right now, though, you can take the current 2012 Honda CR-Z for a test drive here at West Main Street Branford, CT 06405. What's more, our Honda finance experts would be happy to discuss turning your dream of ownership into reality.
