Did you know: Honda vehicles distributed in North America to Brandfon Honda are built in the Southern United States? Honda cars in Branford, CT are about to become even more plentiful, as the company's Alabama plant has been ordered to expand.
The Japanese car maker is investing $84 million and 100 workers into the plant to increase production. For 10 years, the Lincoln, AL facility has been home to Honda Odyssey, Honda Pilot, and the Honda Ridgeline.
The official newsletter said: "The investment will boost annual capacity for the Lincoln, Alabama, plant to 340,000 vehicles and engines by 2013 from 300,000 now, Honda said in a statement on its website late yesterday. The plant employs more than 4,000 people."1
Other US-based Honda facilities have been ordered to shift production in response to major plant shut downs in Thailand, after devastating floods damaged plants there.
