While we here at Brandfon Honda are usually invested in bringing up to date on the latest news concerning Honda like the Honda Odyssey and Element, their awards, accolades, and innovations, we would like to take some time to discuss a recently recall that is affecting models sold between 2005 and 2010. More specifically, the recall if focused on the 2005-2010 four-cylinder Honda Accord, CR-V crossovers, and 2005-2008 Honda Elements.

The total number of vehicles that are affected by this recall is estimated to be in the range of 1.5-million across the United States. The actual issue at hand here is in potential damage to the secondary shaft bearing of the affected vehicle's automatic transmission. This stems from fast, forceful shifting that is executed when trying to get free from the mud or snow. Side effects from this damage can include engine stalling as well as difficulty shifting into park.

In their press release, Honda writes, "Honda is announcing this recall to encourage all owners of affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda."1 Honda will begin mailing official recall notifications at the end of the month.
